Hello, well it’s been a long time since i’ve been able to write new post with the storm hitting us and having no power for days it was not possible. However, we are so blessed now we have power, food, water and heat I’m beyond grateful to God for. He always provides. But there are still people out there that are suffering many losses and I pray that God strengthens them and strengthens their relationships with him through all this mess.
Thismonth I participated in a Foodie Pen Pal through the Lean Green Bean. You are given a name of a person you buy goodies for. Then you mail it. Another person gets your name and they buy you goodies and mail it to you. There is a spending limit of $15.
-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.
I joined a Foodie Pen Pal club and was matched up with Traci (www.cookingwithtraci.com) you can take a peek at what I sent her on her blog. So overjoyed that she loved her goodies.
I was matched with Natasha (www.homemadebytz.com) she sent me so many goodies that I felt like a child on Christmas morning when I got her box in the mail!
Love the Verse she wrote for me in her lovely card!
James 1:3-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
There was dark chocolate coconut covered almonds (killed this bag!) Dark chocolate bar from Trader Joes, Banana bread mix (not her recipe) box from Trader Joes, i’ve had yet to bake it. Pumpkin spice from Trader Joes, Biscoff cookies! (I LOVE THEM) lemon spice, lemon extract (I used this extract for my homemade strawberry jam top cookies the were delicious), a lovely jar of cookie butter which was new to me and last but certainly not the least it was my favorite part of the whole box Homemade Banana Bread!
It was perfectly moist and popped with banana flavor.
So if your interested in joining please refer to the beginning of this blog post 🙂 I really do recommend this experience. You not only meet someone new you connect with people who love food and are very giving individuals. You also get to try new things which can open up your world to new recipes. I love how God always shows himself even in these little clubs we participate in. The bible verse really brought me encouragement in this Foodie Pen Pal box this month.
